I’m 41, married, with two kids & late-diagnosed ADHD.
And this is my survival list:
– I wake up at 5 am to do the Miracle Morning routine.
If I don’t, I’m a disregulated mess who shouts at her kids.
– I drink too much coffee to regulate my neurodivergent brain.
– I used to judge ADHD medication. Now, seeing how it helped my loved ones (and myself), I’m a convert.
– I have a mortgage that makes me work my ass off. I don’t take the privilege of work for granted.
– I don’t believe in work-life balance. For me, work is life.
– This year, I stopped doing coffee chats.
– I don’t work in my pajamas.
– I put on a blazer for my home office sometimes because if I’m not dressed for it, my mind won’t take it seriously.
– I started wearing makeup again after 6 years of being a stay-at-home mom. (Statistically, women who wear makeup earn more. Google it.)
My 30-year-old self would roll her eyes at my life. She’d call it boring. Old-fashioned.
But she’d be wrong.
It’s actually pretty great.
Because I have:
-> The strongest boundaries I’ve ever had (shout out to my kids for that lesson).
-> The most financial awareness I’ve ever had (shout out to my mortgage and joint account with my Swiss hubby).
-> The most fulfilment I’ve ever felt.
This is your reminder:
Design the life YOU need to survive and thrive. Create your version of success.
Not the one your younger self—or your Linkedin feed—thinks you should want.
