I’m a 1984 baby with divorced parents.

This is not a unique story and there are a million others out there like me.

But I wonder, do they all have this insatiable hunger for belonging to a family like I do? The feeling that was taken from me when my parents separated in 1988 and my mom and moved to a different country?

I’ve been searching for this family feeling my entire life.

Finally at the age of 38, after having a family unit of my own with my wonderful husband and two whirlwind little kids, I thought that hunger was satisfied.

But something was still missing…

The feeling of family and sisterhood, and belonging for being exactly who I am even in my little Swiss village — this was missing.

So 3 years ago, I created a women’s networking community called Womännedorf to fill that void.

Since launching, we have had 100+ women attend our events and experience this family feeling.

Since the very beginning our mission was to foster organic connections and friendships that naturally lead to business collaboration.

This month, on May 22nd (which happens to be my 42nd birthday) we’re celebrating our 3 year anniversary with a beautiful brunch at my place. We’ll continue growing this family feeling and build community that withstands the test of time.
